Long Scale Medieval String DrumBased on a number of 15th Century examples, the string drum is tuned in open D and the strings are struck with a stick, giving a percussive chord. Often shown being played with a tabor pipe, it can lend its unique and interesting sound to any ensemble. This drum has a spruce soundboard with walnut ends, cherry sides and back, maple bridge, ebony violin pegs, and is individually serviced and fitted with gut strings by our luthier prior to despatch. AMAZING for my 7 year old daughter. She can tie shoes but I no longer have to wait on her to do so. It takes 2 seconds for her to put these on and she says that they are super comfortable.
